Ministry for Foreign Affairs to begin cooperation negotiations at Service Centre for Entry Permits in Kouvola

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs will begin cooperation negotiations at its Service Centre for Entry Permits in Kouvola. The Service Centre is a separate unit under the Ministry’s Consular Services. The negotiations concern all specialist officials working at the unit. The cooperation procedure will begin on 6 March 2024 and the negotiations will begin on 12 March 2024. The negotiations will last at least six weeks in accordance with the procedure.

The grounds for the negotiations are operational. The Service Centre for Entry Permits, currently located in Kouvola, and its activities and personnel will be placed under the Ministry’s other consular services in Helsinki as of 1 January 2025. The negotiations do not aim to reduce personnel.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs held the previous cooperation negotiations at the Service Centre for Entry Permits in October and December 2022. At that time, the Service Centre’s personnel was reduced by 17.
