
The services provided by the Foreign Service that are targeted to Finnish companies are primarily related to export and the financing and practical management of scheduled or ongoing projects abroad. Export control is pursued with a view to a policy of non-proliferation, which prevents the spread of weapons of mass destruction.
The Foreign Service promotes companies' export and internationalisation and Finland's economic interests abroad. On account of the intensifying competition in international markets, networking and cooperation have become increasingly important instruments and a key challenge to Finnish companies.
Export control is pursued with a view to a policy of non-proliferation, which prevents the spread of weapons of mass destruction. The policy of non-proliferation is implemented by means of international agreements and multilateral export control cooperation. Export control comprises arms export that is subject to legislation and dual use items that enhance the general military capability.
